This year’s entries showed an incredible range of creativity, ingenuity, and inspiration. Most importantly, they clearly demonstrated how they would raise awareness about the importance of energy conservation.
In order to qualify as a finalist, each entry had to meet the requirements outlined in the contest rules and regulations. Finalists were selected from the most popular entries in each age group and category. Two additional entries from each age group and category were selected by representatives from BC Hydro.

If you live in an urban centre, like Vancouver, you probably use a bus, or maybe even a Skytrain to get where you need to go. But what do all these things have in common?
By using power created when a bus stops, we could generate wireless electricity, charging all the cell phones within that bus. This would get rid of the need to charge your phone at home, and stop cell users from leaving their chargers plugged into the wall and wasting electricity when not in use.http://www.youtube.com/v/D6q5ItMg0WM&rel=04,4011,715team mates: Riley Godard

Not only is our song easy to relate to and upbeat, it was created to motivate everyone to make a difference. The Future is today. Instead of focusing on what we can do later on, we should focus on what we can do here and now. We live in one of the most beautiful countries in the world, if we do not try and protect what we have, who will?
Changes we should make that are mentioned in the song:
-Plant trees not only to save our wildlife but to increase the amount of Oxygen available for us to breath
-Smoke and Carbon Dioxide generated through forest fires and factories pollute our air quality, prevent burning and promote renewable energy sources
-Acid rain is a product of the pollutants, to prevent this, prevent wasting reusable materials: Reduce, Reuse, Recycle
-The Oil Spill in the Gulf of Mexico damaged the wildlife in the region permanently, but with the high amount of boat traffic we in BC also have heavily polluted water. Prevent the pollution by not littering. Dispose your waste in proper bins.
-Turn off the lights when you leave a room
-Unplug electronics and your car when you are not using them. Ride a bike!
-We in BC can and will be the pioneers in renewable resources and sustainable energy!http://www.youtube.com/v/_qNSsaEl9go&rel=01,1291,603team mates: Vishal Patel

Living in Canada we can forget how lucky we are. The fact that we have electricity and running water is a blessing. The least we could do is not waste it. Just think, if we do our best to live sustainably, perhaps one day everyone, no matter where they live will be able to share the resources we have been taking for granted. It doesn't just happen. It's a choice that we will have to make over and over again for the rest of our lives.

But what is a xeriscape?? they are gardens that consist of plants which require no supplemental watering. Xeriscape plants work with your particular climate rather than against it. North Americans are the biggest water users in the world, over 300 liters per day, per person! that is unacceptable if you ask me! Think of the water we could save if no one watered their yards!! it is time to take measures to reduce out water usage.
Go get educated on plants that are suitable to your climate, and start converting your yard to a xeriscape today! it only makes sense!http://www.youtube.com/v/1bAjmkk9D9Y&rel=02,5061,918team mates:

This is an important concept because energy consumption is closely tied to the consumerist society where "the story of stuff" goes in vicious cycles of mass production, consumption then consequently mass waste. If corporate cultures are able to adopt elements of reducing, reusing, and recycling their products post-usage, then that's one step toward sustainability.http://www.youtube.com/v/&rel=0628127team mates:
