Well you know how traffic is now a days? It's so slow and jammed up you could probably walk faster and get to your destination quicker than the cars themselves! Well let’s take that out of perspective: OK, so you're in a 3 lane highway, and stopped at a red light. You look across at the other two lanes, and see forty other cars all in line, all waiting for the light to change. You look back and see another nineteen cars behind you, some people putting on make up, talking on their cell phone, or air guitaring along to the radio. Now, this red light happens to be just a minute long, so you think nothing of it, but really, when you add up all the cars (60) and multiply it by the amount of time you idle (a minute), you wind up with an entire hour’s worth of gas wasted at a light! Wouldn’t it be great to change that? What if we installed a timer at busy intersections, where lights are known to be long. The moment a light turn red, the timer starts counting down till it turned green again. That way people would have the choice to shut off their cars and save gas, as well as the atmosphere?
